DOCUMENTARY WORLD PREMIERE ON THE WALL IN ABU DIS, THURSDAY 8 JUNE AT 7.30 PM
The Israeli Committee Against House Demotions will host a presentation and
screening of the new documentary, Goal Dreams, in Abu Dis on 8 June, 2006, the
night before the commencement of the World Cup. The documentary follows the
Palestinian national football team as it prepares for a World Cup qualifying
match against Uzbekistan. The screening is part of a dual World Premiere with
a shorter version of the film, World Cup Inshallah, making a cinematic
premiere in London at the Curzon Cinemas. The film will be projected onto the
concrete "Security Fence" on the Abu Dis/ Al Azariah side of Jericho Road.
A production of Cinema Capital, Goal Dreams is an 84 minute documentary shot
in Palestine, New York, Chile, Lebanon, Egypt and Qatar. Directors Maya Sanbar
and Jeffrey Saunders are available for telephone or e-mail interviews. Ms.
Sanbar can interview in English, Arabic and Spanish. Ms. Sanbar is a British
citizen of Palestinian descent. Mr. Saunders is a Jewish American.
